It Moves, It Won't Sit Still!
Liquid waste leaches. This can occur as part of transport with water, due to
gravity, and due to other factors like the 'wick' effect. And then there
is also Chemical Diffusion. And, in terms of clay-lined waste pits, the
nightmare here is that chemicals can diffuse out of a waste pit, even against
the in-flow of water!
And, any concrete
expert will tell you that any chemical placed next to a concrete slab will
permeate that slab; that slabs are like a 'wick', and that micro pores and
fractures in a concrete slab will allow water vapor to transport pesticides
through the slab and into the living space of a residence.
Liquid waste leaches, pesticides and
herbicides migrate (both through the ground and via clouds as vapor -- the
air!), and household cleaners rub off surfaces onto kiddies skin. What
ARE we doing to our families!
The problem here
is SHEER IGNORANCE. We accept the modern lifestyle and fail to question
all the ramifications of inviting technology into our homes.
